Iceland: Packing List
Iceland in the fall can be tricky to pack for. I visited in early October and we had about 10 hours of sunlight. While we were there, the temperature was usually the mid 40's; we only had one day in the 30's with lots of extreme winds/rain, but the rest of the days were actually pretty dry and sunny!
I brought 3 of my bags for this trip. I had my Osprey Tempest 40 to carry my boots, clothing, and accessories. I also brought my Kanken Mini and packed it full with my drone and its accessories. I then place my Kanken Mini inside my Kanken Classic
Packing List
Clothing

- Leggings (2)
- Merino Wool Base Layer Pants (1)
- Merino Wool Base Layer Long-Sleeve Shirt (2)
- Merino Wool Socks (2-3)
- Sweater (2)
- Parka (1) - You'll need this for those random days where it's raining/snowing/windy, etc.
- Rain Jacket (1) - Some days were warm enough to just wear my rain jacket with my base layers underneath. It was refreshing to have pictures outside of my giant, puffy parka.
- One-piece Swimsuit (1)
- Pajama Shirt (1)
- Bra (1) + Underwear (3-7)
- Gloves (1)
- Scarf (1)
- Hat (1)
- Sunglasses + Contact lenses
- Snow Boots (1) - Waterproof hiking and/or snow boots are ideal for Iceland's unique landscapes and weather; I love my Sorel boots!
- Sneakers (1) - One pair of casual sneakers is great for walking around the city and going out to the bars at night; I chose to pack my slip-on vans since they're small!
Technology
- Phone
- In-ear Headphones
- Camera and/or GoPro
- Drone + controller
- Drone Batteries - I de-charge them to 50% and store them in Lipo-safe bags
- Portable Chargers (2) - Definitely pack a few of these because the car may only have 1 USB port, so you'll need to provide your own way to charge if there are lots of people in the rental car
- MicroSD Cards - Bring a MicroSD card holder to keep organized
Travel Plug Adapter - If you're from the US you'll want to buy a few of these on Amazon so you can use the outlets there!
Other
- Hairbrush
- Makeup
- Makeup Remover Wipes
- Sleep Mask - necessary for those overnight flights there
- Water Bottle - the water in Iceland is so pure, even from the sinks, so you'll need this for your long days out traveling!
- Ibuprofen
- Detoxy+ supplements - These are great for digestion, so you can prevent bloating during your trip
